About the Show

Rick and Rose started Radio Zero back in 1998 to fill the time between tours with their band Poster Children. After a short stint on a Champaign, Illinois radio station, they've returned to their basement studio to talk about music, movies, parenthood and politics with each other and the occasional guest.

  1. I wrote some comments about this most recent episode in my blog:

I really enjoy this podcast but just had to comment on one of Rose’s continual complaints. Hope this doesn’t discourage anyone from speaking their mind in the future!

  2. Amen agonistes. I love radiozero, but the John Stewart dittohead stuff gives me the yawns.

I’ve noticed that while working (I do desktop publishing) that I can listen to podcasts while working if the it’s input/output. For example, if I’m proofreading, that’s input—I have to sort of read and whatnot, so I can’t listen to podcasts or books on CD or whatever. But if I’m paginating or creating art, that’s output and I can listen to podcasts.

I think the same applies for driving—you can do things that are output just fine, but when you try to have two channels of input (driving and listening to someone talking on the phone), shit just falls apart….

  4. Different people will react differently, but I’m in Rose’s camp on the pronunciation of “nuclear.”

It is not just a regional pronunciation issue. It is a MISpronunciation issue. If you read the word, there is no vowel between the “c” and the “l.” You cannot get “nucular” from this word. Bush should have corrected this years ago.
