About the Show

Rick and Rose started Radio Zero back in 1998 to fill the time between tours with their band Poster Children. After a short stint on a Champaign, Illinois radio station, they've returned to their basement studio to talk about music, movies, parenthood and politics with each other and the occasional guest.

  1. James is the one who asked about tips from switching from windows to macOSX; I emailed him with the following tips, but maybe others have more to add. Please let’s not make this into a mac/win flamewar.

The couple of things I notice with MacOS from Windows is the eject thing; you need to throw all peripherals out in the trash before you disconnect them (like stopping thumb-drives in the lower-right-hand bar on windows) - so this is how you eject disks, thumb drives, etc. You can also probably press a little triangle next to these things in the ‘finder’.
You can tell what application you are currently in by looking at the top left hand corner of the screen. There’s always an apple there, but next to it will be the name of the app.
Just closing an app by pressing a red button will not quit out of the program; it will still be running. You need to select “quit” in order to quit a program; quit’s always under the “file” menu (top left-hand corner.
Those are the things I’ve seen other people be confused by, when using a mac.

  2. 1. Hysterical. Might wanna lay off the cough syrup a bit….

    2. Guy from Fame/24 was also on ER for a few years. I called him penis-man then because his character was a complete ass and with the ring of hair around his head and all…well…that’s sorta what he looked like.

    3. Love the music.

    4. 24 blows. Right-wing propaganda. Now, I get that you aren’t being brainwashed, but it worries me that some people will use 24 as an example of why we *must* torture, etc….

    5. Question: My nephew is taking an 8-week self-defense/karate intro in Savoy. I think he would like to try Tae-Kwon-Do, but we are leary of the year-long commitment thing because he also does soccer and church, so what would Rose suggest as a good introduction to Tae-Kwon-Do? Just to see if he likes it or if it’s something he has an interest in.

Thanks for doing a podcast while you’re sick. I was so happy to see it this morning….

  7. It’s the theme from “The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3″, a wonderful 70’s action thriller.
